ADI presents the 11th
When change is the only constant, and the field of design becomes a multi-stage, ever expanding, iterative and interactive process of translation, how does the changing scenario of market and society be addressed? How has the craft of design and the business of design evolved over the years? What are the imperatives of this new narrative for the design community with respect to the entrepreneurial and socio-cultural context?
Is it just the ‘Form’ of Design that has changed? Is it a transformation of traditional territories into more complex non-traditional aspects, perhaps disruptive and yet innovative? Where does Design stand at this juncture? How have designers adapted to this changing face of Design?
In the 11th edition of the Pune Design Festival, the theme ‘Trans.Form’ will look at stories of Design Transformation. Thinkers who have either created the change or led the way to a different thought process; Innovators who have pushed the boundaries; Catalysts who have disrupted the existing to create something new, Designers who have made the difference.
Success is being in the right place at the right time, everything that i’ve been talking about allows more right people in being at more right places at more right times in front of more right people, just again and again so as a
results its very enabling for the individuals, it lets them connect to others lets them find new markets.
Design also has started to represent commercial values, commercial opportunities and that means that the people who understand money are also interested in design
Its time desiners come out of the back room into the board room, designers need to take a leading role in actually driving strategies within companies
The uniqueness of the festival is that it’s being curated by designers. Designers who are practising,
successful, experienced and still have the thirst to know more.
I think what’s exciting about pune design festival is that it’s one platform where we hear a lot of design stories being told by people from across generations, anybody who comes here has touched upon design in some form or the other
History of design is about the awakening of human thought and intention and creating new ways forward.
