Pune Design Festival

Pune Design Festival has been organized every February since 2006 by the Association of Designers of India Pune Chapter. What’s unique about the PDF is its process of co-creation: practicing designers and design professionals met to celebrate design, understand its impact and learn from stories of design change agents across all disciplines.

Pune Design Festival is always charged up due to the fabulous team that has been at its helm. Purely voluntary, and driven by passion for the design profession, the team comprises of designers from different fields, design houses, corporate, academia and students; with the aim to spread design awareness through PDF.

Through the years, the team has expanded and welcomed everyone who wants to work for the Festival.

Stories of Design Transformation

When change is the only constant, and the field of design becomes a multi-stage, ever expanding, iterative and interactive process of translation, how does the changing scenario of market and society be addressed? How has the craft of design and the business of design evolved over the years? What are the imperatives of this new narrative for the design community with respect to the entrepreneurial and socio-cultural context?

Is it just the ‘Form’ of Design that has changed? Is it a transformation of traditional territories into more complex non-traditional aspects, perhaps disruptive and yet innovative? Where does Design stand at this juncture? How have designers adapted to this changing face of Design?

In the 11th edition of the Pune Design Festival, the theme ‘Trans.Form’ will look at stories of Design Transformation. Thinkers who have either created the change or led the way to a different thought process; Innovators who have pushed the boundaries; Catalysts who have disrupted the existing to create something new, Designers who have made the difference.
